Now the Inqy is weighing in on the Matsonford Bridge

November 5th, 2007 · No Comments · Traffic

Seems The Philadelphia Inquirer is now reporting on the growing issue with the Matsonford Bridge.  Overall, I think the article is correct on all counts.  But the most accurate quote from the piece is from Don Pulver.  He said “During the peak, it’s not so good. Otherwise, it’s not so bad.”  That is, exactly correct.

The traffic is only bad during the rush hour, otherwise its not terrible.  The quote from Blackfish is my favorite.  They are open for lunch and dinner and the traffic into Conshohocken during the evening rush is non-existent.  Getting a quote from them was a bit much.  That restaurant is packed every night of the week, people don’t mind waiting in traffic for 5 minutes to get food.

In any case, we’ll have to play a wait and see with the problem.  It scares me that the experts generally think that the problem will get worse before it gets better,  but maybe this modification will help things along temporarily until a better solution is found.
