Stella Blu Has Re-Opened

December 13th, 2007 · 1 Comment · Uncategorized

Congrats to Kim Strengari on the reopening of Stella Blu in West Conshohocken. I had dinner there a few years ago and it was quite good. I’m looking forward to returning for the revamped decor and menu. Recently, I have been frequenting Gypsy Saloon which is another restaurant down the street also owned by Kim and her partners.

Actually, it leads me to a story about some good service from Gypsy. We arrived around dinner time on a Saturday night (no reservations) with 2 of my party of 3. The restaurant policy is to seat only when all people have arrived. We waited for our 3rd and watched him circle W Conshy for 15 mins trying to find parking. Well, eventually another 3-top arrived and they got our table. Not 2 mins later, my 3rd arrived. Kim was very apologetic and quickly brought out an order of calamari for us to munch on while we waiting. (another 45 mins!)

In any case, just a simple gesture like that really puts a positive spin on a potentially bad situation. Thanks Kim, we’ll be back!

was at gypsy on new year’s eve. 6 pm seating.
Dinner was horrible for the prices they charge. Had to wait 20 minutes after getting seated for the specials. The lobster mac & cheese was very hard and the crab cakes were fried beyond belief for $28. Don’t know if they have been spending too much time on Stella and have let Gypsy go…
