For all you drunkards and Real Estate fans…

I had to work for most of the weekend so I’m behind on my parsing of the news.

This one struck me as odd; can someone explain why the press and/or law enforcement is announcing when and where DUI checkpoints are going to occur?  The whole idea of these things is the art of surprise.  Eh, what do I know.

Also, there is some new construction only a few blocks from me so I’ve been waiting to see what the final prices are.  Boy, was I surprised when a $425K tag was slapped on it.

OK, so it has granite counter tops, hard wood floors and what else?  Oh, an unfinished basement, no garage and a view of the park.  I feel like I went back in time to 2002!  Should be interesting to see the final sales price.

One thing about this listing got me thinking.  With the ever increasing difficulty in finding on-street parking in the Borough, isn’t it time that we institute a mandatory off-street parking for any new construction?  The City of Philadelphia did it years ago and now all new houses have either a garage or a parking lot.

i think that by law they are required to announce when and where dui checkpoints will occur

Yes, this makes sense now. I guess they need to do this to prevent entrapment. Still doesn’t make sense to me.

Why don’t they do this for all crime prevention, like drug stings and prostitution stings?

This has nothing to do with this post but there have been a lot of car break-ins lately . 14 in West Conshohocken on Thursday night. Put the GPS and sat. radios in the house.

the police should concentrate on drug sales and other crimes………….dui check points are a money maker for police and janeway towing…why can’t they patrol and deter illegal activities and break ins

to my knowledge it is mandatory to implement off street parking for all new construction in conshy. At least that is the message I hear when I attend the planning meetings.
