Traffic Lights Out On Fayette & Elm This Morning

September 8th, 2008 · 1 Comment · Traffic

Anyone else get stuck this morning?

It was not as bad for me, coming from the West side of town, as it is was for folks trying to cross the Matsonford Bridge from the East side of town.  The blinking yellows on the Fayette facing lights were easy enough to get though, but the blinking reds on the Elm facing lights were not easy to get through.

This, in my opinion, is the job of the police to get a traffic cop out there and keep traffic moving.  Why they allowed crazy morning drivers (me included) to go at it alone is beyond me.

On additional item is that they reported this on KYW 1060 as well, so its not like this was a short term issue, I heard it repeated 4 times on my way to work.  Grr…

I was sitting at the light at first ave at about 7:05 when I saw the lights down at Elm go from normal to flashing. I was actually shocked to hear it mentioned on KYW’s traffic report at 7:12 because they usually are not that quick. I remember a morning about 3 years ago where the lights went out completely. By the time I was leaving for work traffic was already backed up Fayette.
