My wife and I ate there last night and the food was terrible. Worst wedding soup we ever had. All the sauces were too salty, the espresso was burnt and the dessert was WAY overpriced. $9 for an inch thick slice of cake? Not in Conshy. When this was Viggianos, it was really good, but I wouldn’t feed my dog the food from this place now.

Does anyone know why Viggiano’s closed? I went their regularly until this summer (due to a new job), and it was always quite packed. Food was always pretty good. Its surprising that they would close.

My husband and I just returned from our meal at Spampinato’s Italian Restaurant. The food was quite good, but by no means reasonably priced for the current “recession.” The service was downright aweful, as we waited 30 minutes for our check to make its way up to the third floor. The noise and commotion from the bar is distracting, and definately not family friendly. The staff and hostesses are sloppy, unwelcoming and scarce. The friendly, traditional atmosphere of Viggiano’s will be greatly missed on First Avenue

Supposedly Philly Blues on Elm is turning into an irish pub. I’ve even heard rumors of a rooftop bar.
