2 Year Anniversary of Conshy.org

October 17th, 2009 · 3 Comments · General, News, Review

So, it has been two years to the day since I started this blog.  It has been an interesting 2 years, to say the least.  This thing has led me to join the Borough Planning Commission, which I enjoy very much.  It has also allowed me to meet many of my fellow residents and neighbors.  Lastly, it has given all of us all a place to vent, get more information on current Borough happenings and just stay active in the community.

It has been a fun 2 years and I look forward to writing more as the time goes on.  I don’t plan any major changes to this site in the future, I simply do not have the time.  With my recent nuptials, the birth of my son and my “day job”, my time  is at a premium.

I generally keep the data about this site private, I thought I would peel back the curtain a bit to let everyone know what is going on.  As with all web sites in the world, every visit is logged, tracked and analyzed.  Conshy.org is no different.  The difference between this site as compared to others that rely on advertising to support them is that, when it comes down to it, the stats simply don’t matter to me.  I don’t make any money from this site, never expected to.  I started this and continue to maintain it because I enjoy the writing and the comments, that is all.  But, nonetheless, it is interesting to look at the stats and figure out who and where the readers are…So, on to the gory details:

  • This site averages about 1000 pageviews a day.  A pageview is defined as a view of a page on the site that is being tracked.  If a visitor hits reload after reaching the page, this will be counted as an additional pageview. If a user navigates to a different page and then returns to the original page, a second pageview will be recorded as well.
  • The average user spends 1:45 on the site.
  • There are an average of 80 visits per dayVisits represent the number of individual sessions initiated by all the visitors to the site. If a user is inactive on the site for 30 minutes or more, any future activity will be attributed to a new session.  Users that leave the site and return within 30 minutes will be counted as part of the original session.
  • 69% of visitors use the Internet Explorer browser, 14% use Firefox, 10% Safari with 5% making up various other browsers.
  • 70% of visitors are new to the site, 30% are returning to the site as repeats.
  • The top search keywords were conshohocken blog, dorothy krysiuk, conshy, 8 east conshohocken and conshy.org
  • The top states visiting are Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, California and Illinois.
  • In PA alone, the top cities of visitors are Norristown, Philadelphia, Conshohocken, Plymouth Meeting and Bala Cynwyd.
  • The top referrer sites are google.com, conshy.com, ricoinfo.com, facebook.com and jasonsalus.wordpress.com
  • There are 17 subscribers to the RSS feed.  (Why so low?)

So, that’s it.  Nothing impressive.  It is a small site for a small town.  Here is looking forward to another 2 years and maybe more?
