Kudos to Montgomery County Health Department

November 29th, 2009 · No Comments · General, News, Review

As everyone is well aware, H1N1 vaccines are in high demand.  My pediatrician doesn’t have any and generally told us we are on our own getting one.

With a 9 month old in “group” daycare, the need for this vaccine was high.  I did some basic research and noticed that the Montgomery Country Health Department was holding vaccination clinics.

My wife and son arrived at the H1N1 vaccination clinic in Norristown about an hour before the doors opened.  The vaccinations began on time and when my wife and son got to the registration table, 15 minutes had elapsed, no big deal.  My wife had a form filled out for both her and our son for the vaccination.  But, she was told she could not get the shot due to limited quantities.  Well, as it became time for my son only to get his vaccine, my wife was asked if she was getting a shot as well.  She obviously said “no”, she was not allowed to get it.

The staff member giving the shot gave her a wink and nod, sat her down and in went the drugs.  Rules were broken, the world is going to end, but I just wanted to give my thanks to that anonymous staffer at the MontCo County Health Department for giving her the vaccine as well.

The next clinic is scheduled for:

Thursday, December 3rd from 2:00pm-5:00pm
Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church
1000 West Main Street, Lansdale, PA 19446
