Lots of New Happenings in the Area

I am working on a new project for the Borough, which is pretty exciting and I’m looking forward to keeping this blog up to date on what takes place.  In doing the work for this project, I have been pouring over lots of maps of the Borough, mostly in Google Maps.

  • I happened to stumble up Tee’s Golf Center’s site and it’s new facility called “The Proving Grounds”.  This looks like it might be one so the most signification developments in the area, boasting an indoor multi-sport facility, outdoor practice facility, vendor marketplace, five soccer fields, an ice rink and a baseball/softball complex.  Wow!  It is hard to tell from the renderings where it will be located but I assume it will be near or at the current Tee’s Golf Center.
  • In trying to find more information on The Proving Grounds, I went to Plymouth Township’s Planning Commission minutes to do some digging.  I wasn’t able to find anything on The Proving Grounds (which seemed odd) but I was able to see that Mercy Healthcare wants to take over the space at the Plymouth Meeting Mall formally occupied by Crazy City.  Mercy Healthcare, ironically enough, is headquartered in Conshohocken!
  • Also in that same Planning Commission, Prime Hotels (probably just a holding company) wants to build a new hotel at 2005 Chemical Road.  I assume this is between the Conicelli Toyota Dealership and the Blue Route overpass — or thereabouts.  The motion failed at the Planning Commission, no word on what happened at Plymouth Council, so don’t hold your breath.

More updates as they arrive.

Have you heard anything about what’s going on at the old Ridge Lumber site on Ridge Pike. I see everything has been bulldozed over & is an empty lot.
